Working with Adverts

ADVERTS
We watch them, we enjoy them, we suffer them, even sometimes we try to avoid them but, have you realize all the things we can teach with them?
In this tutorial, I'll try to explain how to work with commecials.

SPOT #1     (No subtitles)     OPEN UP, OPEN UP - NESCAFÉ     (used as a "starter")

Procedure: ask for eight volunteers, give one strip of paper each (in disorder), each student must memorize the sentence (5 - 6 words maximum) on the strip, the teacher plays the videoand asks the students to come out as they listen to their sentences, then the students, all in a row, write the sentences one by one on the blackboard. Finally the teacher passes the spot again to check if they have completed the full lyrics of the song correctly.

SPOT #2     (No subtitles)     SOMETHING STUPID - AUDI A4

2 possible procedures: in order to concentrate on the skills of listening and writing, the teacher plays the video (pausing when needed) and the students must try and complete as they listen to the song (like a "musical dictation")
Class discussion (to promote the skill of speaking) Students have to guess the end of the advert and explain why they think so.

I _______ I'll stand in line
until you _________ you have the time
to _____________________________ .
And if we go ______________________
I know that there's a chance
You won't be living with me
And  __________
we drop into a  ___________________
and have  _________________ ,
and then I go and spoil it all
by saying  _____________________________.
